DESCRIPTION:A contemporary immigrant tale with ample social commentary\, A
 mericanah follows the adult lives of Ifemelu and Obinze\, who emigrate fr
 om a militant Nigeria to the USA and England. Ifemelu arrives in the U.S. 
 and struggles with the concept of Blackness and being Black in America ver
 sus being Black in Africa. Obinze\, who would have liked to join Ifemelu i
 n the U.S.\, cannot do so due to the restrictive immigration policies in p
 lace after 9/11 in the U.S. Instead\, he confronts a life as an undocument
 ed person in London\, England. After 15 years\, they reunited in a newly d
 emocratic Nigeria\, where they have the chance to rediscover the other and
  share their experiences as immigrants in two very different situations.\n
