Welcome to the magic of metaphor, to a refreshing compactness of language and a feast for your senses. Welcome to poetry which has the capacity to shine a bit of light on life itself, even amidst some of our more mundane days or dreary thoughts. From the comfort of our own homes, we will come together to read and talk about poems. The poets themselves can tell us why: ” Poetry lifts the veil from the hidden beauty of the world.” (Percy Bysshe Shelley). It is “that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think.” (Allen Ginsburg) Join us because “whoever you are, no matter how lonely, / the world offers itself to your imagination.” (Mary Oliver.)
